Nigella Lawson is currently enjoying a well earned career high in the States, where she is starring as one of the judges on ABC’s new foodie programme – The Taste, a culinary version of the well known singing talent show The Voice.
Keen fans of Ms Lawson may have noticed that she has lost an incredible amount of weight in the last few years, and this has been put down due to her devotion to the Clean & Lean Diet, in which aficionados of the diet claim that our bodies are naturally lean and fit, and it is only when we eat processed highly calorific foods that we get sluggish and overweight.
It seems that Ms Lawson however, may have had a little extra help, and not solely relied on dieting methods, as a source revealed that she has also been to see a renowned hypnotherapist, in an effort to shed those excess pounds.
Susan Hepburn is a hynotherapist with a hefty celebrity client base, and counts such stars as Lily Allen as one of her clients, reportedly helped the singing star to drop two dress sizes from a size 12 to a size 8. It has been reported that Ms Lawson has been attending sessions, costing around £295, in an exclusive Harley Street clinic.
Ms Lawson has put her incredible weight loss down to three things – pilates, a personal trainer and portion control, but she missed out the fourth which is the hypnotherapy treatments.
Apparently, she was induced into a “relaxed state of consciousness” and whilst under this altered state of being, she was given suggestions to help her eat smaller, more controlled meals. She was also encouraged to keep a healthy eating diary between sessions, and took to Twitter, posting pictures of her smaller meals online for her followers.
As source who is reputedly close to the saucy chef stated: “Nigella loves her food and always will. She will never compromise on epicurean delight for the sake of her waistline and isn’t the kind of woman to survive on rice cakes and cottage cheese. But she wanted to lose a few pounds, and decided hypnotherapy would mean she could still eat her favourite foods – but in smaller sizes. Nigella was thrilled with the results. She has also learnt self-hypnosis which she will be able to use for life.”
Ms Lawson has spoken out before about her weight, and famously said: “I remember Elizabeth Hurley once said, ‘It’s either the cookie jar or the size six jeans’. Well, fair enough. She would rather the size six jeans, I would rather the cookie jar. You make that choice. If wearing certain clothes matters most to you, that is going to be your priority, whereas I could probably do that for two days but my real priority is eating.”
The TV chef has lost around two stone in weight, and dropped two dress sizes to go from a size 16 to 12.
Susan Hepburn refused to comment on whether Nigella was a client, and simply said: “It is my policy never to comment on whether or not someone is a client.”
Whatever Ms Lawson is doing, we think that she looks fabulous!
