Your Top Make-Up Bag Essentials

Some make-up products simply stand the test of time. And although certain make-up artists will have their own personal choices, there are definitely particular items that should have always have a place in your make-up bag. From a soft kohl eye pencil, a jaw dropping mascara, to the perfect BB cream and moisturiser. We have selected the items we think every girl needs to own, to make sure they look at the best everyday.

Elizabeth Arden Eight-Hour Cream – £26

liz arden

This classic beauty cream was developed back in 1930 and gained its name after a customer used it to treat her child’s skinned knee and the skin was healed only eight hours later. What we love about this product is that you can use it in a multitude of ways. It not only soothes chapped or dry skin, but is also a fabulous moisturiser that you can put on your hands, face or lips. And best of all, a little goes a really long way.

Clinique Age Defense BB Cream – £26

Every girl needs a good BB cream in their bag, and this NEW Age Defense BB Cream works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, covers flaws and provides great coverage whilst moisturising. It also protects you against the sun’s damaging rays, and is actually good for your skin. The patented formula helps to balance your skin and control oil and shine throughout the day.

L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes – £4.99

When it comes to mascaras, there are so many to choose from, but what us girls want is one that coats the lashes in just one go. The brush is even bigger and has different length bristles, which allows you to coat each lash, from the longest to the tiny ones. With an anti-clump feature and the excess wiper you get exactly the amount you need, and the new ultra black formula provides a dramatic lash effect with just one sweep of the brush.

Benefit Benetint – £24.99

A fabulous all in one cheek and lip tint that we have featured many times before on Shoppersbase, and for good reason. Apply as little or as much as you need to your cheeks for a subtle or more rosy hue. And the brush allows precision painting for your lips. This tint is streak free, waterproof and wont fade once applied. You can just put it on it and forget it.

RiRi Woo Lipstick – £15

Talking of lips, for the perfect red lipstick that suits every skintone, there really is only one contender, and that’s Rihanna. Her RIRI Woo Lipstick sold out in just 3 hours after the singer tweeted details of the product to her followers. Rihanna developed the lipstick so that every girl could wear the perfect red colour. Takes all the hassle and guesswork out of picking the ideal colour for your tone.

MAC Eye Kohl – £14

These eye pencils from MAC have to be the softest eye pencils I have ever tried. The colour in the creamy formula just glides on, making these pencils not only the easiest to use, but allows for dramatic and precise application. And available in a range of gorgeous quirky colours, these eye pencils should definitely be a staple in your make-up bag.

Chanel Mystic Eyes Quad – £38

Having a set of neutral eye shadows is a must, and I always stick with these quads from Chanel. My favourite are the Mystic Eyes shades; not only do you get four harmonising colours, but they are also divided into matt, powdered, satin, and metallic textures. Great for multiple looks and effects and the quality, as you would expect from Chanel, is second to none.
