There is a saying within the cars industry that the minute you drive a new car off the garage forecourt it starts to immediately lose it’s value. It is enough to put off potential car owners from ever buying a new motor, but for those of us lucky enough to be able to afford a new car, which cars keep their value over the long-term, and which are the worst at holding theirs?

Renowned car pricing experts CAP Automotive has examined their data and come up with the motoring industries best and worst cars for depreciation over three years. To do this they worked out each model’s average current value and subtracted it from the price when it was first manufactured.

So starting from number one, see which is the best car at holding it’s value and have a look at where your car features in the Top 20 list.
