Sick of sky scraping stilettos? Fed up of towering platforms? Your luck is in, as there is a new heel on the block – the blockette heel! For those of us who cannot walk in anything over two inches, and hate those wobbly kitten heels (which I always think is like balancing on a drawing pin) you’ll be pleased to know that these season’s fashion is a sensible, but stylish blockette heel.
Spring and summer 2013 is all about the block, a kind of halfway fashion choice between a flat heel and a platform, and it is quickly becoming the celebrity heel of choice, as Alexa Chung has been spotted wearing them at several showbiz events.
The great thing about blockette heels is that they are not only stylish and bang on trend, but that you can actually walk in them and they are comfortable to wear, two facts that don’t usually go hand in hand in fashion trends these days. But we’re not complaining, it’s about time some sensible shoes got a fashion update, and blockette heels are here to stay. They are not only versatile, you get blockette heels on a variety of shoes, from sandals, boots and loafers, and you can team them with any attire, from glamourous to casual.
