According to the study, broccoli that was cooked using the microwave resulted to 97% loss of antioxidant from the vegetable while only 11% loss when cooked under steam through a pressure cooker. Hence, pressure cooking is one of the best cooking methods that can reduce the amount of nutrient loss from the food.

The heated steam inside the pressure cooker can also make it quicker for the food to get cooked. The steam can also intensify the naturally occurring flavours found in the food that is being cooked. This means that you will need less seasonings and herbs to make the food tastier. Since the food is cooked through a system that does not contain air and with only a little liquid, greater amount of nutrients are retained rather than destroyed. Since the food is cooked through the steam, there is no need for you to use any cooking oil. Hence, lesser fat or cholesterol is contained in the food. The use of pressure cooker is not just convenient for cooking; it is also definitely beneficial to one’s health and well-being.
