It is undoubtedly one of the worst fashion faux pas you can ever be involved in; wearing the identical dress to the same event.
Thankfully, presenters Tess Daly and Lorraine Kelly were not attending the same function, but they proved to have identical fashion taste, when it comes to dressing up, as they both rocked up to their separate events in exactly the same frock and on the same day.
You could say it was nearly a disaster, but as the presenters both looked stunning in the same dress, we are calling it a fashion draw.
The neon pink lace detail dress by Ted Baker costs £129 and was first spotted on Tess, when she appeared on This Morning, chatting to Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about her new novel – It’s Up To You New York. The 43-year-old Strictly Come Dancing presenter looked immaculate as she teamed the neon pink dress with matching neon pink lipstick, a pearl bracelet and tan court pumps. She wore her hair in a simple style of straightened and minimal eye make-up.
Later on in the day, and perhaps if she had been watching This Morning she might have decided on a quick fashion change at the last-minute, Lorraine wore the very same Ted Baker dress as she attended the Lorraine High Street Fashion Awards at London’s East Wintergarden venue on the Wednesday afternoon.
The 53-year-old Scottish presenter who hosted DayBreak and then went on to chair her very own programme on ITV called simply The Lorraine Show, jazzed her outfit up a little more than Tess by opting for bright neon and tan court shoes and accessorizing with neon pink jewellery with her brunette hair styled back into a chic beehive chignon.
Lorraine was joined by model Kelly Brook, stylist Mark Heyes and Look magazine editor Ali Hall, as they all gathered to announce who had won out of the six categories voted for by Lorraine viewers during the glitzy ceremony on Wednesday. The six winners of Lorraine’s High Street Fashion Awards were announced as Best Affordable – Primark; Best Online – Boohoo; Best Department Store – Debenhams; Best Trendsetter – River Island, Best Shoes – New Look and best Premium – French Connection.
Lorraine said: “It has been great to showcase the best of the British high street over the past month and to recognise all those great brands that manage to keep us all up to date with the latest fashion trends at an affordable price. I’m delighted for all the Lorraine High Street Fashion Award winners.”
Whilst model Kelly added: “I love the British high street – no matter what the latest trend you can always find a fashion that suits you and your shape.”
The Ted Baker Gabbiey Lace Detail Dress is available in both pink and black, but it seems that pink is the colour to be seen in this season.
