As June is set to be blazing, we here in the Shoppersbase office thought we’d go shopping for summer print blouses.
Whilst we all love a graphic tee, blouses are far more versatile. You can bling them up for a special occasion by adding accessories or do as Kate Moss does and channel your inner tomboy with a plain one.
We however love a printed blouse and nothing screams summer like bright colours and florals.
Here’s our pick of the best:
Using the finest European flax, this linen sleeveless blouse has a bright green shade and a lovely tropical palm print on a pure white background. Wear with white jeans or smart trousers for a casual or classier look. The linen makes it perfect for the summer as it will keep you cool. Features a button through front with a centre back pleat.
- Sugarhill Boutique Suze Daisy Top – £34
One of our staff at Shoppersbase loved this Suze Daisy Print Top from Sugarhill Boutique so much that she actually bought it. We cannot tell you how flattering the fit is, the loose cut suits any shape and we love the statement pockets at the front which dip below the blouse. The colour is a denim blue and the pretty daisy print carries on round the back. Gorgeous with faded jeans.
This is a really cute little blouse from Marks & Spencer who seem to be stepping up their game when it comes to women’s fashion. We like the attention to detail, such as the high-ruffle neck and the gorgeous wild flower print. The long sleeves and loose fit will flatter any shape. One thing we would say is that as the material is polyester, best to wear this on a cooler day. Fastens with button at the back.
This has to be the most versatile blouse we’ve come across. And it comes in a variety of colours and prints, including a pink, blue and green, but we like this beige. It features a longer hem at the back which we prefer as it covers your bottom and it’s lightweight which is great for hotter days. It looks great with a pair of denim shorts, really casual, like you are not even trying.
- Hobbs Dalilah Silk Top – £110
This blouse is super classy; it’s crafted from pure silk and features hand-painted sweet peas. The luxe feel of the silk adds to the brightness of the popping colours. Features a round neckline and slips over, cut to a relaxed trapeze shape to suit any shape. Looks great with smart culottes or flared trousers.
Sometimes when the weather is not so warm you don’t feel like wearing a light-coloured blouse and this is perfect for one of those days. A collarless shirt with an all-over bird print on a darker background crafted from a soft, woven fabric. Wear buttoned up on cooler days and unbuttoned and flowing with a cami underneath on warmer ones.
- Oasis Sintra Tile Patch Print Vest Top – £38
This blouse caught our eye immediately because it’s so unusual. Sleeveless with a round neckline, the diagonal design features a pretty salmon print on one side, a ruffle down the diagonal and then plain material on the other side. The tile print is continued on the ruffle. Back is plain white.
Anyone who loves Warehouse will recognise this as one of their designs. A typical statement print but this time on a kimono shaped blouse in a relaxed fit to flatter the figure but not completely hide it. Features concealed popper fastenings at the nape and we think you should wear with denim for a dressed down look.
This is one of those blouses that is effortlessly cool without being over the top. Part of the Billie and Blossom collection at Dorothy Perkins, it features a pussy bow fastening at the front with an all-over navy blue floral print. Made from polyester so again, not one for the warmer days.
Finally, wow! This caught our eye with its bright and colourful floral print. We love the huge flowers that really make a statement and the loose fitting style is a cinch to wear. You can glam this up with metallic accessories and high heels in the evening or dress it down during the days with jeans and sandals. Really versatile.
