For many years now, rumours have persisted about a link between a greater risk of cancer and the use of aluminium and parabens found in antiperspirants.

The way antiperspirants work is by blocking the sweat glands with aluminium salts. Deodorants work in a different way as it is not the actual sweat that smells, but the bacteria in the sweat and deodorants contain anti-bacterial ingredients which help to stop odours.
