Ten of the Best Hand Blenders 2017

Ten of the Best Hand Blenders 2017

I never used to think much of hand blenders until my sister gifted me an old one she didn’t use anymore. Since that auspicious day, I have found dozens of reasons to reach back into my dusty kitchen cupboards, take out the hand blender, unravel the cord and plug it in.

From blitzing soups to making delicious gravies, sauces and smoothies, hand blenders take up less space than food processors and often come with handy attachments, so there are many reasons to buy one.

Here are our favourites:

Wilko Hand Blender Set - £16.00

Braun Multiquick 100 hand blender - £20.00

This is the hand blender my sister gave me and I have to say that it is very robust, feels heavy in the hand and is good quality. The blades whizz round nicely, chop finely and do not splash food all over the place. It has two speeds, low and fast and the blender end twists off easily for washing.

Hand Blenders

Most hand blenders have a power wattage of 400, this one is 750 and has a turbo setting. We like the stainless steel exterior and the way you alter the speed, by turning a dial on the top. Pretty nifty we think.

Hand Blenders

A very powerful motor of 1000 watts means that this hand blender is going to whizz through just about everything you chuck at it, but it is the assortment of attachments that we love. You get six, including a masher, whisk, grinder, chopper, and a soup Pro attachment. The masher has two different screens for fine and coarse mashing, whereas the blades travel through three different paths to give exceptional cutting. It’s expensive but you could do away with a food processor if you had one of these.
