October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and our canny readers might have noticed that their favourite beauty products are turning pink in recognition. Typically these products are limited editions and donate a percentage to cancer charities.
We picked out ten of our favourites:
Avon Sweet Cherry Blossom Candle – $10
A simple but effective way to show your support for cancer patients. This candle emits the sweet scent of cherry blossom and should burn for longer than 30 hours. For every sale, Avon will donate $2 to the Avon Foundation for Women, a charity that supports women across the globe.
Estée Lauder Pink Perfection Color Collection – $35
This perfectly sized little make-up bag holds four muted eyeshadows, one blush and a lipstick, in colors that will suit most skin tones. We think these would be perfect for gifts as well. All of the proceeds from the sales of this product will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
From: Nordstrom.comOrigins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask – $26
If you have extremely dry skin that needs moisturizing, try this mask. Simply massage into the skin at bedtime, dabbing off any excess and allowing the mask to do its magic overnight. In the morning you will be left with super silky skin. Origins is donating $5 from each sale (up to a maximum of $40,000) to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
From: origins.comClinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ – $38
If this classic moisturizer has always been on your dressing table then this is a great time to replenish your stocks. These limited edition bottles come with a cute detachable key chain that features three silver hearts in different shades of enamel and the Clinique logo. When you buy a bottle Clinique will donate $10 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
From: sephora.comThe Wet Brush – $9.99
You are not supposed to brush wet hair as it damages the hair shafts, but this wet brush is actually good for the hair. It detangles the toughest of knots and allows for a power blow-dry. From each sale of the wet brush, 20% will be donated to support breast cancer research.
Ralph Lauren Tender Romance Pink Pony Deluxe – $95
A limited edition of Ralph Lauren’s popular Midnight Romance perfume here, this Pink Pony Deluxe is a lighter version, with notes of white magnolia and ginger. As with Lauren’s last limited edition perfume, this one will also donate the profits to Lauren’s own Pink Pony Fund. This fund helps cancer patients with research, early diagnosis, treatment and support.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in Shape of My Heart – $18
This shade is called Health Blush and is designed to leave nails looking robust and with a ‘healthy dose of color’. Created with Shape magazine, 10% of all sales from this product will go directly to help cancer patients at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, California.
Venus et Fleur – $139 to $399
Believe it or not, these roses last up to a whole year, thanks to the low maintenance technology from Venus et Fleur. There’s no watering or feeding involved, just put the gorgeous suede box of roses somewhere you can see them and enjoy. For every box sold, Venus et Fleur is donating 20% to the City of Hope, a cancer research facility.
Jamberry Nail Wraps – $15
Great idea for a funky look and to help donate money to charity. These nail wraps are super easy to apply, just add some heat and they will last for ages. There are five designs to choose from and Jamberry will donate $2 from every pack to the American Cancer Society.
Ulta Beauty Kisses & a Cure Wristlets – $5
Small enough to fit in everything you need for a night out, your phone, your purse and your keys. And Ulta will donate a whopping 50% from every sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
