Self tanning products have come a long way since the days I first started using them. Gone are the orange streaks and marks left on your bed sheets the next day, and you even get self tanning products for different types of skin, for one night only, for a gradual build up, and now for your face.
It is still hard to pick the right product however, if you are a bit of a self tanning novice, or just want to experiment a little without looking like you have been tangoed. Or maybe you want that orange Essex over the top look? In which case, we have every self tanning product under the sun (pun intended!) So get those towels ready and look forward a sun kissed you:
One Night Tans
These self tanning products are designed to wash off after one night and are great if you have a special do or party that you are going to. First up, St. Moritz Perfect Pins £3.99 which as the name suggests is fabulous for legs. It evens out blotches and blemishes and makes your skin look airbrushed to perfection.
If you are wearing white for your night out then invest in James Read Wash Off Body Tan £18.50. It dries ever so quickly and will not transfer onto clothing or come off until you wash it off. And it is great for filling in those pesky white tan lines too. Finally for smelling gorgeous you have to try Sienna X’s New Instant Bronzing Gel £12.95. It contains patchouli and sweet orange oil and has pomegranate and vanilla orchid as base notes, delicious! And it gives you a great subtle colour.
Whatever your normal colour is, there are specific self tanning products that will give you a subtle colour, medium or darker shade. Here are our picks of the self tanning products for different shades of skin:

If you have pale skin and you want a little subtle difference then try Abi O Soft Self Tan for English Roses £24. This self tanning spray is formulated for fair skin and gentle enough for the face and body.

Self Tanning for Dark Skin
Dark skin can be a little more daring with self tanning lotions and bronzers but the trick it always in the application so make sure you don’t skip this bit and prepare properly.
For a subtle look try He-Shi Dark Foaming Mousse £27. Instantly tan both the face and body with this quick and easy tanning mousse. This self-tanning bronzer, for a dark tan, glides on easily thanks to a soft mousse, preventing unsightly streaks and achieving a beautiful bronzed complexion.
