Which Smartphone has the Best Camera in 2019?

If the one factor you value above everything in a new smartphone is the camera then you might not want the latest offering from iPhone or Samsung. There are certainly other options in the market but who has the time to test every single one? We looked at expert reviews and have come up with three of the best cameras in smartphones.

OPPO Reno 5G on EE Contract: £64 a month

best smartphone cameras

  • 48MP main/rear camera
  • 13MP Periscope telephoto lens
  • 8MP Wide angle lens
  • 5 x telephoto optical zoom
  • 10 x hybrid zoom
  • Ultra-Night Mode

The OPPO uses the Tri-lens system to produce crystal clear shots in any kind of environment. The zoom on this camera is incredible, you feel like a Peeping Tom! Sharp focus and incredible detail. And easy to use. There’s even a prism inside to compensate for shaky hands. This is a great all-rounder for those that take pictures of landscapes and people and want a camera that can handle both.

OnePlus 7 Pro Android Smartphone: £699

best smartphone cameras

  • 48MP main/rear camera
  • 16MP pop-up front/selfie camera
  • Ultra-wide angle lens
  • 3 x telephoto optical zoom
  • 10 x hybrid zoom
  • Nightscape Mode

The camera works especially well when you use the zoom features so if you like close-ups of faraway buildings or landscapes you are going to get nice details that are in focus. With some zoom features on smartphone cameras you can’t control the picture but with this one there’s no shaking or wobbling. We also loved the little pop-up selfie camera that pops back in if you accidentally drop the phone. All the pictures give a really natural look. The colours are not too graphic and don’t look as if they’ve been edited. Great if you want sharp focus and natural pictures.

Huawei P30 Pro8: £899.00

best smartphone cameras

  • 40MP main/rear camera
  • 32MP front/selfie camera
  • 20MP Ultra-wide Angle Lens
  • 50 x telephoto optical zoom
  • 10 x hybrid zoom
  • 5 x optical periscope zoom
  • Night Mode

Our experts all agreed that the colour saturation was superb on the Huawei and the fact there was a 5o x zoom was brilliant. The detailing on the zoom was good but as you got closer to the subject it became harder to use. However, it was when they used the camera in portrait mode that it really shone. If you want Instagram-worthy photos that need no editing then this really is worth the investment. Gorgeous contrast and rich colours.
