Sam Smith showed off his amazing figure earlier this month as he stepped out in France to attend the NRJ Music Tour in Lille.

He astonished his fans by revealing that he has lost an impressive 14 pounds in just 14 days. This incredible achievement is down to advice and following a strict diet regime by celebrity nutritionist Amelia Freer.

The diet cuts out any processed food, gluten and sugar, and focuses on natural, healthy foods that require little preparation.

The 22 year-old British singer was inspired to lose the weight after spotting photographs of himself on a holiday in Australia:

“I f***ing hated that. I don’t want to be the perfect pop star, I’m far from that. But I saw that picture and thought, “I hate how I look,” he said.

The singer has battled weight gain since his childhood. He says that since meeting Amelia Freer, whose nutrition book, Eat. Nourish. Glow, was a major inspiration to him, he has ‘completely transformed my relationship with food’.

He has even given her credit, by posting a message to her on his Instagram account, which reads:

‘Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out @ameliafreer #eatnourishglow’

Talking to The Sun, Sam, who was snapped with Amelia’s new book, said:

“Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life. Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food.”

You could think that as a busy working musician, Sam’s weight loss could be attributed to the fact that he is always on the go. But the singer revealed he has a complex relationship with food:

“It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself.”

He spoke to The Guardian last year in which he spoke even more about how he felt about food and singing:

“I think I prefer food to singing. It’s really bad, isn’t it? Food is my favourite thing in the world. I always say if I ate what I actually wanted to eat I’d be in one of those electronic scooters because I’d be too big.

“I was a very big teenager. Well, massive actually. Well, not massive, but big. My dad basically became a fitness trainer to help me. He took courses and started to train me, and taught me how to eat better.”

He continued to say: “I’m always going to have issues with my weight. We did loads of running. All the stuff you hate, he tried to make me do. He took out all the fizzy drinks, all the chocolate, all the bad foods in the house, which was unfair on my two sisters because they have a different body type to me.”

Sam’s weight has been a concern of his with regards to his singing career. He has previously spoken about his attempts to lose weight so that he could be bigger in the music industry.

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Sam said: “Before I made this record, I was doing everything to try to get my music heard. I tried to lose weight and I was making awful music. It was when I started to be myself that the music flowed.”

Amelia’s book features 10 basic steps not only on how to lose weight, but to look younger and feel healthier.

It targets bad eating habits and replaces them with easy to follow healthy recipes and basic meal planners.
