Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is no stranger to working with Marks & Spencer, she released a very successful lingerie collection when she teamed up with Autograph a few years ago.
Rosie is also no stranger to the gym, so it seems a natural progression that she should now venture into designing a sporting range. With the help of the creative team at M&S, she has come up with a 14-piece collection, inspired by ballet and dance.
The range is sure to be as successful as her lingerie collection as many of the pieces are pretty enough to be worn outside of the gym.
Rosie commented on working with M&S again:
“I’m thrilled to launch my new Rosie for Autograph Active collection in collaboration with Marks & Spencer,” she says. “Fitness and wellbeing is such a huge part of my life, it feels like a really natural step for my existing lingerie range to develop and now include active wear pieces.”
Unlike many active wear collections, Rosie’s is both feminine and practical. There are medium and high impact sports bras, mesh-insert leggings, racer-back vests, leotards and wrap cardigans.
The 29-year-old model and actress, born in Devon, was the obvious choice to model the collection, as she admits she is a little bit of a gym fanatic.
Speaking to Elle UK magazine, she said: ‘Going to the gym is my time, I don’t want to be distracted and don’t want to be goofing around.
‘It’s a time when I feel I need to be focused on myself because it’s like a form of meditation.
‘I don’t like to be told what to do by my other half. If he’s like, “Do another squat,” I’m like “No! You get down and do another f**king squat.”‘
The range includes technically enhanced materials and fabrics that allow for increased performances and more high-tech workouts.
Pieces in the collection range from £22.50 and £65 and were designed, as Rosie says, ‘with femininity in mind.’
Rosie, who is engaged to actor Jason Statham, spoke about her body and ageing recently in an interview in Stella magazine.
She said that as people get older, they ‘learn what works’ for them, ‘cut the bulls**t’ and ‘really focus on what makes them happy’ while being ‘strategic’ with their time.
Rosie sees ageing as a ‘privilege,’ even if it means inevitable changes to her appearance.
‘Who looks forward to their boobs sagging and bum going flat?! No one! I hope by that point there will be other things that really matter,’ she concluded.
