Burberry launch their new perfume today and have chosen British actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to promote it. The supermodel, who starred in the third Transformers film, is featured in the ad campaign wearing nothing but a gold version of the labels signature trench coat. The advert, which was shot by Mario Testino and directed by Creative Officer for Burberry – Christopher Bailey, is to be shown worldwide on TV and online from today. A separate campaign was started on Facebook where users had the opportunity to preview the new scent and the page has had an amazing 8million ‘likes’ so far.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who is also busy working with Marks & Spencers to promote their new clothing range, was chosen as the face of Burberry, back in 2010 and says, “It’s a huge honour to be working with Burberry again, a brand that put my career on the map and helped launch me. To be asked to be the first ‘Burberry Body’ is an amazing compliment.” And Christopher Bailey is more than happy that Rosie is continuing to promote Burberry, commenting, “Rosie’s effortless style and her staggering beauty made her the natural choice as the first Burberry Body.” Adding, “Burberry Body is the most exciting launch that we have ever created and captures the iconic spirit of the brand today in a striking and sensual way.”
Body Burberry is a luxury chypre – fruity composition that begins with notes of fresh green absinthe, peach and freesia. Roses and iris are in the heart, leaning on the base of sandalwood, cashmeres, musk, amber and vanilla. Burberry Body will be available in 35, 60 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum.
