Confidante and stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe is doing her bit for lack lustre presents and charity this Christmas with her brand new range of gift wrap, designed exclusively for One Kings Lane. Zoe says that even the most so-so gifts can be brightened up with the right packaging and better still if it raises money for a good cause at the same time.
You should never underestimate the power of stylish wrapping paper, a beautiful bow and a thoughtful card, says Zoe, who has created three new designs of gift wrap, which include Printed Snake, WaterColor Cheetah and Wild Forest amongst them. The new gift wraps are said to be inspired by her fall collection which feature metallic colorings and animal prints.Zoe has designed the new wraps exclusively to profit various charities such as Save the Children. Orphan Aid Africa, The Bone Marrow Foundation and The Edible Schoolyard Project, amongst others. She is part of a celebrity team whose participants include Rachel Roy, Stacey Bendet of Alice & Olivia, Lela Rose and Katie Lee and the profits will be shared out between the One Kings Lane Holiday Charity Series.Zoe says: “The same rules apply to gift giving and gift-wrapping as they do to getting dressed, serving food: Presentation is everything!” And she certainly practises what she preaches, having been known to carefully remove bows and tape to preserve paper so that it can be reused in the future. “Recycle! Recycle!” she says. So who makes the perfect gift wrapping in her eyes? It has to be Hermes she say. “I love to see that orange box. Anything in that orange box is fine – it doesn’t matter what it is. It could just be an empty box and I’ll feel like I got my gift.”Rachel Zoe’s new gift wrap costs $15 a roll.
