Paul Clifton ‘Slices of Life’ – A Review

Paul Clifton 'Slices of Life' – A Review 1On 1st November 2011, Paul Clifton self-published his book entitled ‘Slices of Life’ – an anthology of short stories and poems based on a reflection of life seen through the eyes of a young person.

Each of the stories and poems deal with: young love, old age, social networking and death with observant sensitivity. Much of what lies within the pages of the book will strike a chord with each reader. ‘Slices of Life’ delivers drama, suspense and trauma.

Paul says, “I want people to be able to relate to this book as a reflection of each persons individual life whether it is a reflection of matter or a reflection of emotion. I have aimed this book to attract the young adults (15-25 years) with the topic areas I have dealt with being that reflection of their lives.

Although there is definitely no restriction for other age groups, as I also want ‘Slices of Life’ to be a type of remembrance or reminiscence of past times.”

About the author; Paul Richard Clifton was born in Crystal Palace, London 1988, moving to Croydon as a young child and receiving most of his secondary education there.

His family decided to move from the hustle and bustle of city life and settled in Wrexham, North Wales in 2001 where Paul continued is education until the age of nineteen years. When he left school, Paul worked in the electrical retail trade before becoming a Teaching Assistant. It has long been his ambition to write and this anthology of prose and poems is his first published work.
