Fans of the quirky singer Paloma Faith, may be more used to seeing her wearing outrageous head gear and 40’s styled dresses, but in an effort to raise funds for breast cancer she has turned her hand to designing a lingerie range for La Senza. The unique songstress and comedian, seen on many panel and fashion shows, has used her talents of wearing retro, vintage items to collaborate with the high street store and created slinky halter neck playsuits, figure hugging french knickers and 40’s inspired sleepwear.
The range, which will appear on the La Senza website and in store on 1st October is a limited edition and some of the proceeds from the collection will go to raising money and awareness for the charity. There are currently three satin pieces in the Paloma range which include a £30 emerald play-suit; a £30 ‘ Dolce Vita ‘-style halter-neck bra, and matching high-waisted French knickers for £16, and Paloma says “I’m really excited about my range of lingerie that I’ve designed for Breast Cancer Care this year. I’ve gone for a luxurious 1940s style.”
Paloma may have very personal reasons for designing the range for La Senza as her own mother also suffered from the disease. ”My mum had breast cancer so this is a cause I am very passionate about. Without Breast Cancer Care some women would have nowhere to turn to. With one person diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes, many of us will sadly know of someone dealing with the disease right now. Breast Cancer Care will use the money we raise together to ensure none of them face it alone.”
The Paloma Faith for La Senza range, which will be available in sizes 8-18 in La Senza stores, will only be available to buy for the month of October. The same month that Breast Cancer Awareness runs for. I have just heard from La Senza that due to unforeseen delays it is not available online yet but we have managed to sneak a few pictures of Paloma’s collection especially for you. To find out more about Paloma’s range, contact La Senza at www.lasenza.co.uk where they will give you the skinny on all things Faith related! Apparently the new collection will go live in a few days.
