In the last two years, Black Friday has changed the way we shop here in the UK. In 2014, shoppers queued for hours, outside supermarkets and retailers to get their hands on bargains ranging from electrical goods to high-end fashion items. In 2015 however, it was a very different story as customers stayed at home and went online for the best deals.
So what can you expect this year for Black Friday and where are the best deals going to be found?
Black Friday is on 25th November this year, and word is there are going to be some amazing discounted goods out there.
Before we tell you where to look, here’s how to get prepared to make sure you don’t miss out on what you are hoping to buy.
Where are the best bargains to be found?
There’s no point staying up all night hoping to bag a huge bargain if the item you are buying is not typically discounted by much.
Black Friday bargains always revolve around the same kind of objects; electricals, fashion, homeware, games, children’s toys, tablets, smartphones, furniture and some jewellery. This is because these items have the biggest mark-ups and can therefore have the largest savings.
Do your research
About a week before Black Friday, go online and research what you want to buy, visiting several different sites to get the best prices, and then bookmark them so that you can easily click on them later on.
On the day, get on the page early and be prepared to queue for your item but at least you won’t be hunting around for it whilst others are already in the queue to buy and pay for theirs.
Get a PayPal Account
It’s quicker, easier and more secure to pay with PayPal. Many sites have a one-click option which takes you directly to the payment site and saves you time, which is particularly good if you are buying multiple items. It saves you having to put in all your card details over and over again.
With PayPal, you also get the added security that if your item does not turn up you can ask for a refund and PayPal will help you.
Sign up to money saving sites
If you do not have a specific item in mind that you want to buy, and don’t want to spend hours trawling through different retailers, a good way to see what bargains are available is to sign up to money-saving sites.
Three good ones are:
It is also a good idea to go onto social media, such as Facebook and Twitter and like or follow your favourite retailers to see if they are posting special deals on these sites only.
