With two small children herself, it is no doubt that she drew inspiration from them for her latest venture; I’m talking about Myleene Klass’s new collection of kids shoes for Start-rite.
And as the ex pop singer has already caused a sell-out of two popular dresses for her capsule collection for Littlewoods, it is hoped that Myleene influence will spread to this children’s brand, as she has just been announced as Start-rite’s brand ambassador for 2013.
Voted as this year’s Celebrity Mother of the Year, the hugely popular Myleene has taken on her role as ambassador to the new campaign very seriously, as she even rocked up to launch her new children’s shoe range at Clinks shoe store in Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield, where she helped customers with fittings for their children.
Myleene confirmed that the brand was one close to her heart, as she had worn Start-rite shoes herself, when she was growing up. She said: “My first pair of shoes were Start-rite shoes and my daughter’s first pair of shoes were Start-rite shoes,” and added: “There are so many things parents think and worry about when bringing up their children, what they are eating, if they are warm enough, if they have a good education, but feet always seem to get forgotten.”
And with two small daughters, Ava who is four, and Hero who turns one this year, she emphasised the importance of a good fitting pair of shoes for kids: “We talk about feet from a fashion perspective but never from a health perspective. These feet are going to carry our children through life so we need to look after them right from the start. By ensuring children wear shoes that properly fit their feet you can help prevent problems in later life.”
Myleene Klass looked super stunning as always, and dressed for the warm spring weather in a pretty white dress complete with black birds, red heels and her trademark long hair curled in tousles.
The Myleene Klass for Start-rite shoes includes some revamped classics of the popular styles of last year, and some brand new styles for 2013, and they all feature Myleene’s signature linings of leopard print for girls and tartan for boys. One of her daughter Hero’s most favourite shoes – the Girls Carmen shoe – is back, and they all have flamboyant flourishes, indicative of Myleene’s own personal style.
The shoes are available to buy from the Start-rite website – Startrite.com and prices range from between £34 and £49, with shoes for all occasions catered for.
