It has become the celebrity pram of choice, in fact, really, no self respecting Hollywood A List mom would be seen out without one. I’m talking about the Missoni Bugaboo stroller, beloved by the likes of Kate Hudson and her beau Matt Bellamy seen wheeling baby Bing in North London last August, Rachel Zoe, who was spotted pushing baby Skyler around Los Angeles and Sienna Miller stepped out in London last year, with the limited edition celebrity must have.
And now, songstress Adele was snapped in Los Angeles with her baby son warm yesterday, in the designer brands multi checked iconic blanket. The colourful wrap, which featured red, blue, purple, orange, black and red zig zags, is part of the Missoni collaboration with Bugaboo prams, and comes as part of the Cameleon set, which retails at $269, with the pram base costing a further $880.
The singer joins the many other admirers of the brand, which also include Matt Damon, Alyson Hannigan, and Amanda Peet. Adele did not look that happy to be snapped by the papps, but who would when you have only just given birth and simply want to get on with a bit of shopping!
She in currently staying in Los Angeles having won the Best Original Song for her Bond theme Skyfall at the recent Golden Globe awards, and is thought to be staying in LA until the Academy Awards ceremony, which take place on February 24th. Fiercely private about her personal life, Adele has not revealed her sons name to the waiting media, in fact, when the 24-year-old singer was asked to reveal his name at the Globes, she politely refused, deeming it to be ‘too personal’.
This has caused a bit of a problem to Adele’s A List celebrity chums, who want to share in her happiness and send baby baskets to the star, but have no idea of who to address them to.
Mother-of-two Jessica Alba organised a baby basket from her company Honest to send to Adele, but had to leave the tag blank because she didn’t know the name. A source told the Daily Star newspaper: ‘Jess organised a gift basket with baby creams, shampoo, luxury nappies, the sort of things Adele wouldn’t want to traipse around LA looking for. But after phoning around all their mutual celebrity pals Jessica couldn’t find out the baby’s name. She had to send the gift tag blank.’
Whilst the Missoni Bugaboo range has proved to be a massive hit with celebrities in the last couple of years, those iconic zig zags could prove to be a little too recognisable, as nobody wants to own the same merchandise as everyone else. Exclusivity is a very levelling fashion playing field and it could be that Missoni go down the ‘Burberry’ path, where the familiar beige tartan checks were ubiquitous and became rather commonplace.
However, always at the forefront of fashion, we are sure that Bugaboo’s next collaboration for a luxe limited-edition Cameleon by fashion designer duo Viktor & Rolf, out this fall, is sure to be a hit with new celebrity moms.
