Mary Portas never seems to stop for breath! One minute she is collaborating with Clarkes shoe manufacturers and designing a new range for the high street branch, next thing you know she is heading up a British Designer competition, the winner of whom will feature in the famous House of Fraser department stores and be able to feature their very own products and creations. She has designed a collection of bags for Radley, appeared on the TV addressing the nations manufacturing problems in Britain by looking at where knickers are made, is there no stopping her! This article, however, is dedicated to her latest additions to her homeware range at the House of Fraser, in which she is championing British designers under her name to give them a start up in the commercial market. We, as always, have selected our favourites to give you a heads up as to what you can expect. But here’s the last word from Ms Portas herself; “There are so many stories behind the homeware I selected for my shop. From scented candles, inspired by my youth and created with True Grace, to linen and crockery featuring the work of bright young things from the world of illustration.”
