Channel your ‘60’s chic with this statement eye-lash look. Achieving super-defined spiked eye-lashes with maximum effect is easy.
Just coat your lashes with a couple of layers of mascara, then pull two or three lashes together to create a spike before it dries. Then coat these spikes with another layer to hold.
For extreme spikes, use false lashes. Apply mascara to your own lashes then attach the false lashes. Using another layer of mascara on the false lashes, pinch these together to exaggerate the false ones.
- EyLure Lengthening No. 080 – the lashes are long and wispy and ideal for pinching together.
DARK AND DRAMATIC NAILS
The nail polish look for fall is to go dark and dramatic, but to keep it this side of gothic. So not too dark.
Think lush, rich berry stains, such as blackberry, ripe plums, violet, any fall fruit colour with a hint of sheen is good.
You can also experiment by layering colours, such as a dark blue over black for instance. Or why not switch between a super shine and a matt finish in the same colour?
- Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique Nail Varnish Naomi Red – an ideal all round colour to suit all seasons.
Lip gloss is so last year, this season it’s all about stained lips. But the lips have to be well prepared.
Make sure you have exfoliated the lips and surrounding area, moisturised and then apply a lip balm which will set the stain. Now pick a highly pigmented lip stain and using your fingertips, gently blot onto the middle of your lips. leaving the outside bare.
Finish off by dabbing with a tissue to remove excess colour, then repeat the process. Apply as much or as little as you want.
- Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain Pop Water 6ml – has received rave customers reviews, with one saying it ‘feels like your lips but better’.
Versace showcased double eye-liner this fall, with super shiny gun-metals and marine eye pencils layered together.
If you want to recreate this look, choose a shimmering grey like Versace, and match it with a gem like colour, such as jade green or turquoise blue.
To apply, use the gunmetal shade on the inside of your eye, and the brighter gem colour on the outside, just under the lower lashes and along the upper lid. Then smudge the colours with a small brush.
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil – its easy application makes it perfect for this trend.
From fake tans and bronzers we head to a more natural blush in fall.
Peach and rose colours push aside the typical oranges and browns we are used to seeing at this time of year, as the trend is for a more natural state.
If you are going for the natural look, it involves using just one product, such as a blusher or lip tint that can be used on the cheeks as well. If you have darker skin, opt for a brighter rose pink, whereas peachy hues look good on olive and fair skin.
- Bourjois Aqua Blush Face Make Up Blusher – comes in four different shades – Nude, Pink, Berry and Coral.
