The marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries is over after only 72 days, leading their fans and the media to speculate that the whole romance and wedding was a huge hoax from the start. Apparently Kris found via a celebrity gossip website and is said to be ‘devastated’ but should we even believe this? As sources close to the pair allege that Kim was ‘never really into’ her husband, but went along with the wedding as a ‘publicity stunt’, did he know about the hoax or was he an unwitting partner in a money-making scam? In an interesting twist to events, Kim filed for divorce a year to the day she very first set eyes on Kris, she met him on October 31, 2010, at a New Jersey Nets game.
Kim Kardashian made her name on a show called ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s’ which was so successful it was broadcast in many other countries as well as the US. The main reason of the shows success was that all members of the Kardashian family were particularly open and frank with their inside and private lives. If fans now feel they have been manipulated into believing a made up story, it is likely they will leave the show in droves. As such, a spokesperson for E!, who broadcasted the wedding special, said that talks were being held in respect to this shocking news but ‘E! will continue to share the fascinating real lives and larger-than-life existence of this close-knit family.’
But will viewers still want to watch them? Other sources are saying: ‘Kim was looking for a husband and Kris was selected for her, amongst others. She wasn’t really into him but she hoped she would be able to develop some feelings, but it never happened. Kris turned out to not be as malleable as everyone hoped he would be, he was pictured out partying with other girls, Kim really couldn’t care less for him, she decided to end it.’ Hoax or not, should we feel sorry for the unlucky pair whose love could not stand all the media attention perhaps?
Well, as they had spent probably all their married life in front of the cameras, with their costly wedding netting them a whopping $18 million, with further endorsements and sell off rights, it all amounts to earnings of roughly $250,000 per day for the couple. Not bad for a mistake. And on the day Kim filed for divorce, she tweeted news of her family’s new clothes store on Twitter, excitedly saying, ‘Our store #KardashianKhaos is opening tomorrow at 9am at @TheMirageLV We are so excited!! Kardashian Khaos has arrived!” Talk about mistiming! She hadn’t even mentioned her marriage ending!
Whatever the truth is, which undoubtedly, we shall never find out, the pair have made many millions of dollars from their romance and wedding, and now I guess we shall see pictures and interviews with the pair, on Hello and OK magazines, discussing where it all went wrong with a sad-faced Kim on the front. Do yourselves a favour and do not line their pockets any more, leave the mags on the shelf where they belong.
