Kanye West looks set to launch a new fashion label shortly, after teaming up with Louise Goldin, a British fashion designer.
After the pair have supposedly been creating the items in Paris, the range, consisting of womenswear, is due to be launched soon. Kanye has supposedly talked about how bringing out a new clothing range has allowed him to put to use the skills he’s learnt by helping out in top fashion houses, such as Louis Vuitton and Fendi.
Hoping to have the range out by the time New York Fashion Week begins in September, it’s reportedly being helped along by professors at the British Fashion School, Central St. Martin’s, who have supported him in his new venture.
Kanye West is a well-known American rapper and music producer, who shot to fame after receiving recognition for Jay-Z’s album ‘Blueprint’, as he worked as a producer for Roc-a-fella records. His first album in 2004 also helped him rocket in the world
of music. To date he has released five albums, all of which have sold enough to have gone platinum, whilst also allowing him to win several different awards, including an impressive total of 14 Grammys. Kanye’s record label, GOOD, is doing just as well as his music, too. With artists such as John Legend and Kid Cudi signed to it, he’s appeared in the top 50 music producers list.
Other ventures he’s dipped into during his short life include opening a series of restaurants in American, called Fatburger, as well as teaming up with Nike to bring out his own style of trainer. His fashion experience will definitely stand him in good stead in terms of launching a new clothing range, as he’s also previously worked with Louis Vuitton to design a particular style of shoe, which was launched just in time for the summer of 2009.
Kanye certainly hasn’t wasted any time in his career so far, and a new fashion range definitely won’t be his last venture. For as long as he involves his lucky mascot, which is said to be a teddy bear that’s appeared on the front of all of his albums and in his music videos, he’ll continue doing well.
