This year, International Women’s Day falls on March 8 2019. Many beauty and fashion brands take this opportunity to celebrate by releasing limited edition products that donate a percentage of their profits to worthy women’s and girl’s charities. It is also a chance to show your support and feminist side by donning either an article of clothing or perhaps by gifting something to a girlfriend or female family member.
Here are our top picks to celebrate IWD 2019:
‘You Go Girl’ is an empowering slogan t-shirt that can be worn at any time of the year. Made using quality cotton and especially for International Women’s Day. Sizes: XS-XL.
A beautiful way to commemorate International Women’s Day 2019 and perfect for the special woman in your life. Made from sterling silver and featuring clear cubic zirconias and beads. The first pendant has a tulip design on the front, on the reverse are the words ‘Strength, Love & Happiness’. There is also an enamel pendant with an inscription ‘PANDORA My Inspiration International Women’s Day 2019’. For every sale, Pandora will donate 20% to Ovacome, the UK’s leading ovarian cancer support charity.
Made especially for International Women’s Day, this is a loose-fit t-shirt with the word ‘Power’ in navy and the ‘O’ styled as a rainbow star. Sizes: XS-XL.
Red lipstick is the epitome of strong women and this limited-edition red signature lipstick would make a great addition to any make-up bag. Not only that, but a whopping 100% of all sales go to global charity UN Women, champions for gender equality.
History in the making and preserved for all time on a t-shirt by young Italian photographer – Micol Sabbadini. He took the iconic picture on this t-shirt whilst photographing the 2017 Women’s March in New York City. Fashion brand Zadig & Voltaire has their own history of supporting women’s causes and this year all profit from the sales of this item go to the charity Every Mother Counts, which helps to make childbirth safe for every mother.
L’Occitane shows that small things matter and can make a difference. This balm is made using shea butter and can moisturise lips, body and hair. Best of all, 100% of profits from sales go to support the women who work in Burkina Faso, where the company get the shea butter from.
We like this t-shirt because you can wear it any day of the week to show your feminist credentials. ‘Divine Feminine’ is embellished in red velvet and the tee is made from soft cotton in a loose-style fit. Sizes: XS-XL.
If you don’t want to flaunt your feminist affiliations just yet then be subtle with this 14ct yellow-gold single earring from Alison Lou. Hanging from it is the symbol for the female gender in a hot pink enamel coating. Secures with a hinge-back.
Miller Harris is another fashion brand that consistently brings out products for IWD. We love this t-shirt but it was hard to choose a favourite. Designed exclusively by JEMIMASARA, this features hand printing in pink ink on heavy white cotton. Sizes: S, M, L.
Lovely soft cotton-jersey material in a slim-fit with ‘Solidarite Feminine’ printed on the front. Sizes: XS – L.
