Imagination: Discover the Danish! 27 July – 12 August 2012

If you have ever wanted to indulge yourself in a Danish world of food, design, Viking history and entertainment, then now is your chance, for at St Katharine Docks in London, the best of Denmark will be showcased here this summer and you can come and play, test your creativity, tickle your taste buds and Discover the Danish Spirit at the Imagination Festival. Here you’ll discover the Danish spirit in a three-week festival full of interactive events and entertainment. London will be transformed into a sports hub, and you are invited to come along and take part in all the Nordic fun and games and watch music and Danish sports stars live on our big screen. Best of all it’s FREE!

The Imagination Festival is a fantastic three-week showcase celebrating the best of Danish culture, lifestyle, food and design and VisitDenmark welcomes you all to discover what Denmark has to offer, between 27 July – 12 August at St. Katharine Docks in the heart of London. The Imagination Festival wants you to get involved and is not just a come and look event. This is a fun and interactive event, where you will try out new things and discover the Danish spirit. The Imagination Festival is a show for the senses that will thrill and inspire you. If you have ever wanted to know what it would be like to holiday in Denmark, this is an ideal opportunity to test the waters as Imagination gives visitors true inspiration and visions of what a holiday in Denmark can offer in terms of historic towns, beautiful countryside and long sandy beaches. Throughout the Imagination event there will be activities and experiences to suit all tastes.

You can get creative with LEGO, learn about the Danish green lifestyle like how a windmill works and discover cool Danish design and fashion. From 27 – 29 July the Imagination theme will be Danish gastronomy with Danish flavours, cooking shows, come and cook activities and meet the chefs events. From 6 – 8 August the Danish Vikings will return and bring a replica of Helge Ask, a 17.3 metres long Danish Viking ship and lots of Viking wisdom. During these days, guests will get up close and personal with a wide range of traditional Viking activities. And worry not about missing any of the London 2012 Olympics either as Danish TV 2 will be broadcasting live on an outdoor screen in the heart of the Imagination zone. There is a saying that the Danes are the happiest people in the world, so come along to the Imagination and join us and find out why!

All eyes will be on London this summer which gives a unique chance to show the UK and the rest of the world the best and the variety of what Denmark can offer anyone thinking of visiting the country as a tourist.
