Get yourself into a comfortable position and make sure that you are undisturbed for at least twenty minutes. You are going to aim to quiet your mind. This is most easily achieved by mentally repeating a key word such as “relax” over and over or by concentrating on your breathing. Make sure that you breathe very deeply throughout and ensure that your muscles are as relaxed as possible. Should thoughts crop up, simply push them to one side and carry on concentrating.
