Goat Simulator Video Game Available on April 1st!

It’s the game that was never meant to be played by the public, but when early programming footage was released on the internet, it drew so much interest that developers Coffee Stain Studios decided the public needed a goat mash up game.

The trailer for Goat Simulator has been designed to replicate the infamous Dead Island film trailer, but in the goat version we get to see the very last moments of the goat’s life rewound, showing exactly what happened and the utter carnage he has caused along the way. The developers explain Goat Simulator as: “Goat Simulator isn’t really about what it’s like to be a goat. It’s about being a really fast goat that wrecks stuff.”

In the game, players can control the goat and the aim is to trash as much of the town as possible, using the fabulous different moves and manoeuvres the game allows you. So try headbutting a petrol station, or crashing through a windowpane, how about doing a backflip over a garden fence? And with these amazing graphics and one devil-may-care goat, comparisons are already being made between 24 and Jack Bauer, the only difference being Jack’s replacement with a goat.

Goat Simulator has appeared to really capture the public’s imagination, with a serious lack of inane but funny games released in the past few years. It seems that after all the seriousness of role-playing games such as Deus Ex, Dungeons & Dragons, Sims and more, a game where the only object is to cause as much havoc as possible has hit the funny nerve with gamers.

Goat Simulator is available on PC and developers Coffee Stain Studios gave a statement that announced the release date for April 1st. There have been rumors that the game might have a multi-player function, allowing gamers to compete against each other and ‘herd’ goats to create even more chaos.

So far the developers are keeping mum about any multi-player function, they did have this to say however: “Goat Simulator is all about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you’re a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. Destroy things with style, such as doing a backflip while headbutting a bucket through a window, and you’ll earn even more points!”
