Gemma Collins is on a mission this season to bring as many sparkles and sequins to her new collection of party dresses as possible. The ex TOWIE star, now fashion designer has gone from strength to strength, and even won an award for her range of clothing. Since the 32 year-old launched her plus-sized collection back in July 2012, the Gemma Collins’ Collection has bagged the Best Designer at the Plus-size Fashion Awards in November 2013.
This month however, Gemma has her sights firmly set on the party season, and her range of dresses encapsulates everything you would expect with festive glitz and glamor. The dresses also have clever tricks and fixes to slim down your figure and flatter you, making you feel extra special on your night out. There are panels that run down the centre of dresses to create a slimmer figure, ruching down the sides of some dresses that go to hide any lumps and bumps, and wrap dresses that instantly cinch you in and take off the pounds.
Gemma spoke to the MailOnline and said: “As a bigger girl I’ve always felt forced into wearing black because there’s nothing else available on the high-street. I’m on a mission to bring sexy back for us curvy girls this Christmas with a capsule collection bursting with seasonal colour and bling.”
And steering away from traditional blacks, Gemma has used a variety of colours, including greens, reds and magentas, cobalt blues, creams, golds and purples to colour her collection. The ex TOWIE star said: “’I’ve introduced mulled wine reds, deep greens and metallics meaning there’s no excuse for any plus-size lady out there to be hiding behind her little black dress this festive season.”
Gemma has also used a selection of fabrics to bring out the festive feel, including the embellishment of glitzy sequins and glamorous lace additions. Speaking about her new collection, Gemma said: “I’m so excited about launching my capsule collection in time for the festive season. From waist-cinching wrap dresses to pull in those curves to figure-skimming shift dresses; gold-studded numbers to sassy sequin frocks, there really is something for ever plus-size party girl hoping for a kiss under the mistletoe this Christmas.”
Gemma’s inspiration for her collection was to give curvier women more confidence and to wear more colorful clothes during the party season:
“My Christmas capsule collection will make any curvy girl feel a million dollars. What better time to put on those party shoes and get glam than Christmas; the most magical time of the year?” She added: “Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate our curves and show off the gorgeous body we have been given. I hope my Christmas Capsule Collection will allow the inner confidence of every one of us larger girls to shine through.”
