Five Ways to Get Whiter Teeth

Whiter Teeth

Have you ever seen a celebrity with less than perfect teeth? Well, perhaps this side of the pond maybe, but in Hollywood, whiter than white knashers are a must if you want to get ahead, just look at some before and after pictures of Tom Cruise’s teeth, bless. But any fan of the Friends TV comedy will remember the time that Ross overdid his teeth whitening and actually glowed in the dark, not a good look! So these days natural is more and the bright fluorescent whites of Jodie Marsh et al, are fast becoming a no no.

But any tooth whitening can be expensive, or can it? Basically, there are five different ways you can get whiter teeth. We won’t say the obvious one of course which is to swap your toothbrush for a new soft brush head, brush with whitening toothpaste every day and at least twice a day for around 4 minutes. We won’t tell you that because as in life, we all want fast results. So here are the five ways to get whiter teeth:

Make your own teeth whitening toothpaste

Don’t spend huge amounts of money on whitening toothpastes when you can easily make your own at home. Simply mix a teaspoon of baking soda with 3% hydrogen peroxide powder and then use that instead of your normal toothpaste.

Your teeth will get whiter every time you brush your teeth but you will not get the whiter than white celebrity look, they will go back to your normal colour without the staining from tea, coffee, red wine etc. To get much whiter teeth you would have to do either of the following:

Use tooth whitening pens

Tooth whitening pens, such as the BDazzled Tooth Whitening Pen, can be a good solution to getting rid of stained teeth. Your teeth will only get a few shades lighter with tooth whitening pens, however, because the solution used to make your teeth whiter in the pens only stays in contact with your teeth for 30 minutes before it gets washed away by saliva.

As such it does not really have time to get rid of stains and therefore does not have any real major tooth whitening effects. They are a good tool to use however if you have already had your teeth whitened by a dentist and want to keep up the white colour.

Try Crest Whitestrips

If you need to whiten your teeth in a hurry and time is of the essence then you can enjoy whiter teeth in just 1 day, with the full results in 7. New Crest 3D White Intensive Professional Effects Whitestrips are formulated with the same clinically proven ingredients dentists use.

And since it also uses their groundbreaking Advanced Seal technology, you’ll get convenient, no-slip whitening. You can even drink water while you whiten! The lower strips now have an improved whitening coverage area and both top and bottom strips have a “notch” to help improve even further the “fit” an coverage. Please see the video below on how to apply them.

Use an at-home teeth whitening gel kit

Whitening kits such as the Colgate Home Whitening Kit, are widely available from most chemists and will help you get the same white teeth that you can get from the dentists. However, you do have to leave the trays in your mouth for longer periods which can become uncomfortable as the gels and solutions will not be as strong as the ones the dentists use. These kits are a great option if you cannot afford a dental whitening procedure.

Go to your dentist

Your dentist will be able to super whiten your teeth in under one hour, and if you maintain your chompers with tooth whitening paste and twice daily brushing, there is no reason to suggest that the stains will come back. It is expensive however so you may want to consider the above options for perfect white knashers!
