The New Year seems to get everyone concerned about their health and fitness. As a result, many of us join gyms, start diets, and buy fitness DVDs. But which ones work?
Here are our recommendations:
As the title suggests, Zumba is still going strong and one of the best-selling fitness DVDs of all the other genres. This one uses dance moves and just your own body weight to get fit. And there’s a 20 demo to get you started. Great music and the help of fitness guru Michelle Lewin.
Fans of Davina’s Toned in 10 will love this new DVD which uses boxing to work your whole body. She’s brought along her trainer Sarah to show us couch potatoes how to get fit while building up strength and toning the body. I like this fitness DVD because the workouts are in handy sections so you can do as many or as few as you have the time to do.
If you are a Strictly Come Dancing fan and you’ve missed Natalie Lowe then now is your chance to dance with her and get fit at the same time. Not only that but joining her is the lovely Ian Waite. Alongside the FitSteps dance team, there are Latin and ballroom workouts so you can choose your favourite style of a dance routine. And all set to upbeat music.
Ferne has just had her baby and has been working out with her trainer Ellie to lose those extra baby pounds. She reckons she’s in the best shape ever since she’s been doing this training which bodes well for us! This fitness DVD is not for the faint-hearted, you’ll sweat, your heart will pump but you’ll get results.
We can’t all be as fit as Ferne, so for ladies (or gents) of a certain age, we need a slower-paced fitness regime. All you need to get started with this DVD is a sturdy chair to lean on and a towel for resistance. There are no tricky dance steps and it is a great workout for beginners.
Known as the Body Coach, Joe Wicks certainly has a body to die for and has several recipe books out that aim to shed those pesky inches. Now he has added a workout to his meal collections. Just 15 minutes a day and you could potentially look like Joe!
TOWIE star Frankie Essex credits this workout routine with helping her to lose 2 stone after she spent 18 months feeling depressed. She works with her personal trainer Lisa to create “these smashing fitness routines to get your heart pumping so you can melt those excess pounds away and tone those muscles!” There are 3 lots of 20-minute routines, each devised to either get your heart pumping, tone or sculpt.
