Fendi have come a long way since their ‘bagette’ style bags literally took over the fashion world. Established in Rome in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi, their creative director is the outrageous Karl Lagerfeld, who has been responsible for adding a modern injection of vibrancy to this timeless luxury Italian brand.
The impeccable craftsmanship and classic design has had a new and innovative twist for this autumn and winter 2013, with contemporary techniques combining artisan skill, all resulting in a brand new collection, where practicality and form, perfectly compliment femininity.
We particularly love the structured woolen dresses, tailored using soft and sumptuous fabrics, yet remaining functional and classically elegant, very difficult to achieve but Fendi have definitely pulled this off with aplomb. We have featured our favourites among the autumn winter collection, but see which ones you prefer.
Duchesse-silk dress – £1,460
Teal is a favourite colour for autumn, and this is put to great use in this gorgeous duchesse-silk dress. Tailored with pure elegance, the dress features a nipped in waist, and includes a flattering pleated skirt that is cut to create a beautiful and feminine silhouette for most figures. The black piping down the front of the dress can be complimented with black pumps or court shoes and accessories.
Embellished cashmere and silk-blend dress – £1,700
This is one of our favourites among the new Fendi collection, and is sure to feature with celebrities here and across the pond. The little black dress has had a total revamp, with gorgeous mirrored crystal embellishments on the silk crepe collar, and tailored using a classic fabric of super soft cashmere and a silk-blend material. Finished with a belted style and brass beads with navy paillettes.
Color-block cady dress – £1,040
Color blocking shows no signs of going away, and this cady styled dress is a perfect example of how to do this style justice. The ideal colors of brown, teal and coral are favorites for this time of year, and this dress can be worn for a corporate look, or even glammed up, straight for an evening do. Wear with block heels for the day, or sky high stilettos for the night.
Peplum leather jacket – £2,830
If biker jackets are not your thing, this classically elegant peplum leather jacket might be your chance to rock a leather look. It is a sophisticated style that is unlined, which gives it a more lightweight and streamlined feel, and features a flattering pleated peplum with a nipped in waist.
Silk crepe de chine pussy-bow blouse – £565
Pussy bow blouses are ultra-feminine, but have to be crafted in the best material, to give them the best flow over the body. This one from Fendi uses the finest silk crepe de chine from Italy, and is made with a seasonal color of fuchsia berries. Team this pretty blouse with your favourite A line skirt and low ballet pumps.
Wool-felt dress – £1,180
A superbly constructed wool felt dress that has a definite nod to Victoria Beckham here. Expertly tailored, the dress is masterfully elegant yet minimal in its style. The dress features a high cut-out neck, cap sleeves and has pin tucks in the waist, creating a nipped in look.
Wool-twill cropped pants – £470
Pants do not often get a look in with designers but we had to feature these in our article, as they are just the essence of cool. Crafted with a cropped style, they are perfect for the cooler days, where the weather is slowing drawing towards winter, and they are ideal for showing off your shoe collection. Team with a berry colored sweater or shirt.
