The minute you walk into Blue Elephant, the first thing you notice are the heady aromas of spices and exotic herbs cooking from the kitchen, the lush, tropical plants, literally littering the place, and the fusion of wooden floors with water trickling fountains, mixing up your senses. Blue Elephant really is one huge sensory delight! The concept is based around traditional Thai beauty, courtesy, charm and the very best in culinary feasts. The kitchen is under the control of celebrity cook Nooror Somany who is also the founder of Blue Elephant restaurants. You really are in for a treat when you decide to dine here as Blue Elephant is renowned in Thailand as being one of the top five Thai restaurants.
There is a new menu which has been inspired by the Blue Elephant restaurant in Bangkok. Group founder Nooror has divided dishes into three sections: Thai Cooking of the Past – based on ancient recipes, each with fascinating origins such as the fragrant Massaman curry of tender British lamb in coconut milk, Thai sweet potatoes, roasted peanuts and cashew nuts; Thai Cuisine of Today – classic dishes such as Tom Yam Koong spicy and sour tiger prawn consommé with Eryngi mushrooms; and Thai Kitchen of Tomorrow – including Chef Noroor’s very own personal favourite, lightly seared French goose liver with Thai tamarind sauce.
Blue Elephant is not an ordinary restaurant, oh no. It can provide a Personal Thai Cookery Demonstration for you and your guests, which will range from an Authentic Thai Cooking Lesson, a Traditional Thai Dessert or their well known Fruit Crafting Classes. But this is not all they offer. Their speciality is offering a small group an authentic Thai Market Dining experience in which they serve street food from stalls such as Noodle Boat, Sugar Spinning, Fruit Carving, Mieng-Kham stall and much more.
And if you are bored with the same old Sunday Roast, then head on down to the restaurant for their Spectacular Sunday Brunch. Here you will see a splendid array of all things Thai amidst a beautiful display of bright and colourful vegetable and fruit carvings. All tastes are catered for from sea food lovers, curry addicts to happy vegetarians. And you will be amazed at some of the new and exciting exotic and tropical fruits that have been flown in especially each week from Thailand for the dessert range. Great value for money, Sunday Brunch is offered at £30 per person.
