Eight of the Best Cots and Cribs for your new-born baby

Cots and Cribs

Bringing home your new-born baby is a daunting task for first-time parents. Undoubtedly the most important piece of furniture you will purchase for your new-born is a cot or a crib. Babies sleep for the majority of the first few weeks, so ensuring that you have chosen the right cot and have established a bedtime routine is essential.

There are so many different cots and cribs available that if you didn’t have a preference beforehand it can be hard to choose one.

In the early days of bringing home baby, some parents prefer a basic Moses basket as it is easy to carry around and babies are small enough to sleep soundly in them. As they get older a more stable solution is necessary and this is where a cot or a crib is a better option.

Some cots and cribs have a rocking action which is soothing to your new-born, whilst others have adjustable options such as removable sides so that the cot converts into a bed.

If you are a first-time parent, be wary of cute and pretty cots and cribs that look beautiful but won’t last long. It is better for your baby to be comfortable and secure than it is for them to look adorable.
