Seriously, this man can do no wrong in our eyes. Men want to be like him, ladies want to be with him and kids aspire to play like him. So his latest campaign which features him modelling a new lingerie range for clothing giants H&M are bound to be a success, with his female fans at least. David announced late last July that he intended to launch his underwear collection and now we can get to see what is on offer, if you know what I mean. He first modelled for the Italian designer brand, Armani back in 2007 and the adverts proved to be such a hit that sales of the briefs doubled in only a year. It is thought that H&M are hoping his latest venture with them will prove to be as successful.
The pictures, released today, show David revealing his toned body, his many tattoos and of course, that impressive package that got him noticed in his last ad campaign. He is seen wearing a tight pair of white briefs and a couple of vest tops and looking sexy and meaning business as he looks into the camera. The move away from the designer brand sees the Beckhams venturing into the high street with more affordable products as the briefs cost a very reasonable £9.99. And David himself spoke of his plans to work within the fashion industry, commenting, “I have had the idea of doing a bodywear collection for some time now,’ he told WWD. “The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani. David appeared on giant billboards across the world and they became a talking point away from football in the players life.
David went on to say, “It proved to me that there is a real market for good-looking, well-made men’s bodywear. I can’t wait to show people the collection – although I’m not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again. And in a canny move by the store, the new range will be available to buy in H&M from February 2, which is just in time for Valentine’s Day. It is thought that H&M are hoping that it is the women that will go out and buy the briefs and underwear collection for their men in the first instance as a Valentines Day present.
In further news regarding the Beckhams, it was revealed yesterday that David will not be signing up to footballing team Paris Saint Germain. David commented that he did not want to uproot his family again from Los Angeles as they are so settled there so he has decided to refuse the lucrative offer from the Parisian team. It is thought that the footballer, who is currently in the UK with his family on a winter break from America, is now expected to sign a new deal with LA Galaxy.
