She may not be known for her fashion sense, in fact, some might say she is more well known for her fashion disasters, but be that as it may, Courtney Love has just launched her very own fashion label and from what we have seen so far, it actually is pretty impressive. She has called the range ‘Never The Bride’ and asked model Chloe Norgaard to debut her first collection which she describes as ‘re-purposed Edwardian, Victorian with an edge’. And as all self respecting celebrities do, when they have something to promote, she took to Twitter and posted us a sneaky preview of what we can expect from her new range.
Model Chloe Norgaard was in the middle of a fashion shoot for magazine ‘Contributor’ and Courtney took the opportunity to snap some of her own photographs to post up on her Twitter page for her fans. The Never The Bride collection includes a pink girlie ‘tinkerbell’ dress with embellished flowers and bows, a flesh coloured lace dress with peacock feathers, and several vintage tops and blouses and flapper style dresses, all accessorised with jewellery and boots for a more a grungey look that we associate with Courtney’s distinctive style.
In an interview with The Huffington Post about her new collection, Courtney said that her range is “the stuff that I would wear if I was young enough to not look like Bette Davis in “Whatever Happened After Baby Jane?’”
The 48-year-old singer with her controversial band ‘Hole’ was married to the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain who subsequently killed himself. They have a daughter Frances Bean together. Courtney is still famous for her edgy rock star behaviour and continues to live up to her reputation with her clothing line, stating: “In the hem of all the dresses there’s a ruby and it says c***,” she proudly told the Huffington Post. It is not known who will stock Courtney’s Never The Bride range, despite the fact it has been in production for over four years. It is thought that she hopes Net-a-Porter will stock it but as yet they have yet to confirm this.
