Cleansing Oils – A New Way to Bathe & Shower?

Cleansing Oils – A New Way to Bathe & Shower?

It is common knowledge that oils are well-known in the cosmetic industry for clearing away the most stubborn of make-up products, but did you know that oil can clean the body just as effectively?

The great thing about oils is that they clean without stripping away the skins’ precious natural oils, which means they hydrate as well as cleanse.

Most cleansing oils that are used in the bath or shower contain natural ingredients such as almond, jojoba, olive or avocado, which when rinsed away leave a barrier of moisture on the skin.

So does this mean that we can nip into our kitchen store cupboards and pick out a bottle of olive oil and wash with that? The answer is no, as cleansing oils have been manufactured to specifically clean the body, as they contain surfactants that help to carry away the dirt from the body when rinsed with water.

Cleansing with oils will not suit everyone; if you have eczema or sensitive skin you might have a reaction to the oils. And it is worth pointing out that anyone with nut allergies could have a severe reaction to any product that uses a nut oil,  such as almond for instance.

Those it will suit are people with very dry skin or those with normal skin that want a boost of hydration in the winter months.

Here are the cleansing oils that we recommend:
