Today is a very special day for Ms Chloe Green as she unveils her very first shoe collection for her fashion brand CJG. With styles inspired from a heavy gothic heavy influence, contrasted against her love of pretty butterflies, hearts, roses and skulls, Chloe’s first step into shoe design is set to be a stand out range of decandant opulence, and all illustrated with vintage beading and suede trims. Chloe tells us that she has always loved fashion – from experimenting with her mother’s wardrobe as a child to sitting on the front rows at some of the biggest and best catwalk shows around the world. Creating a collection is something Chloe has always aspired to do and now that she has successfully launched her brand; CJG and debuted the collection of shoes, she hints that in the very near future we might be seeing a clothing and accessory range next. Chloe has personally named each shoe in the Summer 12 collection after members of her family, close friends and special people in her life, including Louisa, Magda, Misha and Lydia.
The official press release describes the shoes as thus: ‘Details such as fine knotted and intertwined straps, delicate floral appliqués and sparkling crystals on high wedge designs give a charmed and dreamy feel, with metal zips, chains and hardware used to add strength. Feminine materials of antique lace, buttery natural leathers and luxurious soft suede’s in neutral colours are interspersed with saturated brights and shimmering metallics, whilst bold architectural shapes give a dynamic edge. The collection is made up of eight designs, some in a variety of colour ways, from the hero sky high stilettos with metal work to statement wood wedges all made from the highest quality materials. Each shoe is given Chloe’s signature green outsoles in genuine leather. Like an enchanted garden where natural innocence is set against a shaded, mystical backdrop.’
Not that Ms Green ever had to create her own collection of shoes, the retail heiress is the daughter of tycoon Sir Philip Green and such, can have all the shoes she so desires, but kudos to the girl who clearly does not want to become another Paris Hilton. And it appears that a former model who also designed a clothing range for Sir Philip gave the ultimate seal of approval to the shoe collection. Kate Moss was revealed to have said by Chloe herself that she loved the shoes although they were a little high. High they are, at 6” for most pairs, all of them come with green signature soles and they start at £115 for a pair, going up to £175 for some crystal encrusted gorgeous lovelies. And as all celebrities must do when they have a new product to launch, Chloe took to Twitter to sell her shoes by tweeting, ‘#CJG has launched!! Buy now http://cjg.com or http://topshop.com !!! Xxx such an exciting morning!!! Xxx ♥’ The collection is already proving to be very popular as despite the hefty price tag, some models are selling out and others are becoming limited stock. Topshop, who are also selling the range, assure customers that they are replenishing the stock, thank goodness! Had my eye on the crystal pair! Chloe is very proud of the fact that she designed them herself, stating in an interview, “I designed my collection myself. The shoes are made in Brazil and they all have a green sole.”
Kate Moss need not worry about the height however, as Chloe has promised to launch for the autumn and winter, a collection that will feature flats. Stating her influences in footwear which included Charlotte Olympia, Guiseppe Zanotti, and Azzedine Alaia, it was actually Christian Louboutin who inspired her to introduce a signature coloured sole. Miss Green did design the collection but had help six of Topshop’s best buyers and designers. To view her collection please click her own website CJG.
