With the soaring amounts of plastic sent to landfills, destined to remain on the planet for thousands of years before it degrades, manufacturers are on a mission to find an alternative.
One pair of inventors – James Butterfield and Tim Bouscarle, based in London, came up with such an alternative – Chilly’s Bottle.
The premise for Chilly’s Bottle was to combine the traditional benefits of a vacuum flask with the convenience of a plastic bottle. The resulting effort is a reusable bottle but with high-performance technology and is also environmentally-friendly.
Chilly’s is based in London and founded in 2010 and Chilly’s Bottle was designed to get more people drinking water, but with less waste.
Chilly’s Bottle has the following features:
- Double-wall vacuum technology
- Air-tight, leak-proof lid
- High-grade 304 stainless steel
- Keeps drinks cool for 24 hours
- Keeps drinks hot for 12 hours
- Preserves flavours and freshness
The bottles come in a range of different colours, including a monochrome matt collection including black, grey and white, a pastel edition which includes pink, purple, blue and green, a neon collection in yellow and blue, a coloured matt edition that feature red, blue, green, purple and pink, and the original Chilly’s Bottle in silver.
There are three different sizes available:
- 260ml – £15
- 500ml – £20
- 1.8L – £25
Some colours are only available in certain sizes, for instance the coloured matte range and the neon colours are only available in 500ml, and the pastel edition is only available in 260ml.
There are also a few accessories to go with the Chilly’s Bottle:
