Her shoe collection may have got off to a shaky start, with reports of faulty stitching and shoddy workmanship, but that hasn’t kept our Chezza down in the dumps for too long. This month she is launching her very own lipstick, a collaboration with beauty cosmetic giants – L’Oreal, and it is all in aid of a good cause. Cheryl has teamed up with the cosmetic company and created a limited edition lipstick from their Color Riche range which is called ‘Red Passion’. The red-blue ‘Red Passion’ shade comes housed in L’Oreal’s iconic gold packaging, and even features Chezza’s signature on the side.
So why has Cheryl ventured into the realm of charity do gooders at this time of year? Well, since she started up the Cheryl Cole Foundation, she has auctioned off some of her most memorable dresses for the charity in which the lowest bidders won. And it appears that at this present time it was an opportunity for her to accomplish an unrealised ambition and support her favourite charity – The Prince’s Trust. Cheryl commented about her new venture. “I love wearing lipstick as it is makes me feel glamorous whatever the occasion. I chose this iconic luxurious, red shade as it is the perfect dramatic accessory. I am so thrilled the funds raised from my L’Oréal Paris lipstick can make a difference to people’s lives through my foundation with The Prince’s Trust.”
So how did she go about choosing the colour from the many shades that Color Riche offer? Evidently Cheryl thought very carefully about selecting the shade of the lipstick and wanted to pick one that would suit everyone. She said, “When selecting the shade I chose one I felt would flatter most hair and skin types, and is the red that everyone wants in their make-up bag.” It seems it was only a matter of time before she would branch out into cosmetics with L’Oreal as she has been the face and hair of the company since 2009, promoting their Elvive shampoo and Elnett hairspray along with their L’Oreal hair dyes.
The Cheryl Cole Foundation was launched in April 2011 of this year in association with the Prince’s Trust. It strives to help younger people who live in the north-east of England who are facing difficulties at school or home, have been in trouble with the police or who are in care. The cause is definitely a worthy one as apparently around three in four young people who were supported by The Trust move into jobs, education or training. Cheryl said about the launch that she was ‘thrilled’ to be able to not only create her own lipstick but to help charity at the same time.
So, brighten up your dreary New Year with a brand new lippie, knowing that you are supporting a good cause at the same time and wearing Chezza’s most favourite shade! The lipstick goes on sale tomorrow and a pound from every sale will go to the The Cheryl Cole Foundation in aid of The Prince’s Trust.
