Celebrity Big Brother 2011: Who Is Going In The House?

Charlie Sheen

With the new series of Channel Five’s Big Brother set to start this Thursday 18th August, speculation is rife as to who will be entering the house. We have already seen pictures of the revamped set and with former winner Brian Dowling taking over from Davina, the excitement is rising. So what names are being bandied about as we wait with anticipation and will we be disappointed with a bunch of Z listers or have Channel Five really pulled out all the stops this year?

Kerry Katona

First in the mix is Hollywood A lister and ‘winner’ Charlie Sheen, star of Two and a Half Men. Reports have claimed that the actor has been offered a whopping 6 million pounds to take part in the series, of course this is only if he manages to stay the distance so is it true? His agent has dismissed the rumours but bookies already have him at 14 to 1 to win the show outright so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

The troubled ex Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona is a hot favourite to enter the house as pictures have been taken of her strenuously working out, weeks before the series is due to start. With reports of her following a strict diet as well, it is thought that Kerry wants to look good in front of the cameras and next to any younger models that may also be going in there. There are other tip offs that her mum – Sue could be joining her so expect sparks to fly if this is the case.

Sarah Ferguson

X Factor addicts may be pleased to know that Jedward are hotly tipped to star in the Big Brother house, as is Wagner, last years wild card who got through to the final stages despite being the nemesis of Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell. Much more interesting however is speculation that the Duchess of York could make an appearance, although it is said that she would perform some kind of ‘guest’ role and not be an actual housemate. With her recent walking off an Australian interview last week, Sarah Ferguson does need all the positive press coverage she could get so this could be an ideal opportunity for her to get the British public back on her side.

Boxers Ricky Hatton and even Mike Tyson are rumoured to have been asked if they fancy a stay in the BB household, although I am not sure if putting them in together would be a good idea. And with reports that Paddy Doherty from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding has cleared his diary for August and September, they may have their hands full. If you loved 80’s pop music then you might fancy the chances of Steve Strange to win the show.

Darryn Lyons

Or if R’n’B is more your thing then Bobby Brown may catch your eye and William Hill have him at 16 to 1 to win. TOWIE’s Amy Childs is a strong contender to be a BB housemate with other such arm candy as Pamela Anderson fighting for the hair straighteners and even Sally Bercow, the rumbustious wife of John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, is rumoured to be in talks about a possible attendance, although her fee is decidedly less than Sheens at an estimated £100k.

Other names in the fray are Pamela Bach, ex wife of David Hasslehoff, American actress Tara Reid who has starred in such films as Urban Legends and American Pie, paparazzi king Darryn Lyons and Sid Owen, Ricky from Eastenders. Well only two days to go now so who do you want to win?!
