The free live gigs are all part of the Burberry Acoustic project, which aims to give support to up-and-coming British music acts, and to celebrate established British acts too, and the UK heritage brand have decided to make their innovative Regent Street store the host of the free gigs.
The Leeds based band – Kaiser Chiefs will play for the first time the store since it opened last September. The store has a 1,000 place capacity, and was designed with such events in mind.
The Kaiser Chiefs are one of the UK’s most successful bands, and have had hits with songs such as I Predict A Riot, Ruby and Every Day I Love You Less And Less. Previously private functions have only been held at the Burberry store, and this event will start off the series of music events, all ticketed to support the British music scene.
Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, who is renowned for using live music for his catwalk shows, is responsible for choosing the artists who play at the Burberry Acoustic shows.
Bailey has headed up Burberry Acoustic since 2010, and said: ”Music is so important to Burberry, as it is to everyone,” he added, “With Burberry Acoustic, we wanted to bring people into live contact with bands that we love, bands we admire and bands we believe in.”
Last September, the “Burberry Acoustic” LP was released, which was the first release of the collaboration series between London Fashion Week and Sony music.
