The Best Fragrances and Scents to look out for in 2017

Looking for a new scent in 2017? Fed up with the same old fragrances and fancy an update but not sure what’s out there?

This year perfumeries are tapping into our need for stability and comfort after 2016’s whirlwind of chaos.

There are refreshing and uplifting fragrances that revitalise but also homely fragrances that offer a sense of peace and relaxation. Others have opted for a cleansing nature that lifts the spirit, ready for a new day.

Whichever one of our fragrances catches your imagination, here’s what we think will be flying off the shelves in 2017:

A sweet and sensual mix of vanilla and almond milk that stays the distance. With a white, powdery and milky top note, it finishes with heliotrope and musk.

Available from January.

L’Occitane always make exceptional fragrances. This one evokes the scents of fields in the Provence, covered in lavender, surrounded by fading sunlight, with hints of honey and vanilla and white musk.

Available in February.

  • Chloé Love Story Eau Sensuelle – £47

This is a sweeter version of Eau de Parfum, with sweet heliotrope added to the original orange-blossom scent, finishing on a fresh neroli and cedar.

Available from February.

If you love fresh invigorating scents then this one by Michael Kors features lime, cucumber, water lily and fleur de sel. A crystal sea vibe that finishes with a sharp scent of sunny jasmine.

Available in March.

  • Bertrand Duchaufour – £155

Gin-based, this is a zesty number that features pink pepper, fir balsam, woody top notes and ends with Japanese pine, aquatic notes and driftwood.

Available in February.

  • Aqua Celestia – £130

One of my favourites, imagine a foggy scene with blackberries fresh on the hedgerows, mint, and soft clouds of pollen-like mimosa, finishing with lime and musk.

Available in February.

  • Jimmy Choo L’Eau – £36

This starts off with floral notes but then cleanses you with juicy nectarine and citrus. Middle notes of hibiscus flower and scented woods add depth whilst peony and musk finishes the scent in a powder.

Miu Miu have taken their successful original fragrance which featured a strong base of lily of the valley and added fresh honeysuckle, morning dew and green foliage.

Available now.

  • Estée Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge – £46

Another favourite here, take black cherries, add juicy succulent mandarin then mix in pink pepper and saffron and finish with two types of rose.

Available from February.

  • Neom Organics’ Enery Burst – £49

A lively and fresh scent here that combines the fruitiness of grapefruit, lemon and citrus and finishes with fresh rosemary.

Available February.

Lemon and citrus features strongly in this fragrance with woody undertones and freshly torn leaves.

Available from February.

  • Thierry Mugler Les Exceptions Hot Cologne – £135

Green coffee, ginger and warming cardamom add to this refreshing cologne mix that has a warming effect.
