Christmas is a time of over indulgence, whether in the form of spending too much money on Christmas presents, eating too much Christmas dinner, or partying hard over the festive season. Inevitably we have to make a sacrifice in one area of our Christmas budget, and one way you can save a few quid is to not spend a fortune on your party dress. But who has the best dresses for a bargain price and where should you look?
Typically supermarkets are coming up trumps with a great range of good buys for around £20 each. You’ll also find that many online retailers are taking advantage of no overheads and passing these savings onto their customers. So where should you head to find our best bargain party dresses? Here’s our selection:
George at Asda
Seriously one of my favourite supermarkets for clothing, with the fabulous G21 range for a younger market, every time I shop in Asda I always come out with a item of George clothing.
Our favourites include this Baroque Column Dress for £14, which has been featured in Look Magazine and has a pretty hefty 4.7 out of 5 in customer reviews. Or this G21 Lace Prom Dress for £22 ticks all our style boxes, and features metallic fabric with cut out design. Also on our checklist is this Beaded Shift Dress at £25. It’s the beautiful detailing on this dress that caught our attention, and the 1920’s flapper style which is definitely in vogue this season.
Tesco are definitely my second favourite store to find exclusive and quirky designs. I particularly love their shoe and boot range, but they also have a great selection of dresses.
We love this F&F 3D Flower Shift Dress for £20, which is available in fuchsia pink or navy. It features really cute 3D effect flowers around the neckline and the colours are a nice change from the typical black you see at Christmas. This F&F Daisy Lace Overlay Dress comes a close second. I bought a lace overlay dress from Tesco before and the detailing and quality of the fabric was first rate. This one costs a little more at £25 but has a lovely vintage feel to it. Or how about a subtler look with this Lace Top Chiffon Dress at £22? Gorgeous soft nude shade with a lace overlay and chiffon skirt.
Always giving great deals on clothing, this festive season is no different, and we have found some real gems.
First up this Amy Lace Tasseled Crochet Dress In Black is listed as a beach dress, but we think it will work really well for the party season. And it is reduced from £29.99 to £20.99. Next up, channel your inner Versace with this Kasia Lattice Lace Up Midi Dress, was £29.99 now £14.99 and make your debut in a Liz Hurley style! You can definitely get your rock chick look on with this Mitranda Cut Out Scuba Dress, and it’s only £9.99.
This online retailer made the headlines when it introduced their party dress range for £1 each to celebrate their first birthday. Their party dresses are a little more expensive as you would expect, but still great value.
This Jamila Lace High Neck Bodycon Dress is only £14.49 and features a beautiful high neckline with embellishments, and a flattering silhouette. This skater dress is our next favourite, the Elina Baroque Printed Skater Dress at £17.49 comes in white and black or red and black, and we love the traditional print on the modern skater style. Finally, it’s the unusual colour of this prom dress that caught our eye. This Ashling Embellished Gem Dress costs £19.49 and is available in blue, nude, black or red. It features a silver embellished gem detail around the sweetheart neckline, and is padded at the bust.
