Bag A Celebrity Handbag – At A Fraction of the Cost!

We’ve all seen the bags celebrities drape over their skinny arms and swooned with envy and lust, marvelling at the design and sheer style they effortlessly exude. But how many of us can actually afford to buy one? With designer handbags costing in the range of between £500 to about £5000 pounds, it’s no wonder that replicas have taken over the High Street and thank goodness for us! There are however, some pretty good copies out there and with some made from leather and imitating the best of the top designers, you’d be hard pushed to tell the real from the replicas. Gone are those shoddy cheap Louis Vuitton bags you used to see on every market. Now copies of designer bags have double stitching, proper silk lining and are hand finished. We have selected the best of the designer copies that would have the celebrities rushing out to buy them!

Vanilla Paris have a great range of Hermes inspired bags and although they cost around £99, they are worth it. Based on the classic Birkin range, they come with a dust bag just like the original Birkins and have their signature padlocks as well. Go for the brightest colours and look for this seasons trends of ostrich or mock crocodile leather. The real Hermes Birkins are a favourite accessory of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Hilary Duff amongst others.

Big bags never seem to go out of fashion and with a few simple rules it is easy to get this trend bang on. Make sure you can fit at least your lap top in it and stick to short handles so that you can perch the bag on your arm. River Island have a whole section on big bags but we love this orange shopper for £65 with beige handles. Coleen Rooney is a fan of huge shoppers as is Transformers star Rosie Huntington-Whitely.

The tribal clutch has become the main accessory for nights out and movie premieres but you don’t need to be starring in your own film to take advantage of this trend. It glams up every outfit from jeans and a skinny tee shirt to ditsy frock. The more details on these bags the better, go for fringes, braids, beading studs and chains. Celebrities seen out with these babies are Bar Refaeli, former squeeze of Leonardo Di Caprio and Louise Roe. We think this clutch from www.aldoshoes.com ticks all the right boxes and it is on sale at £34.

As the festival season reaches its climax we often see suede satchels make a come back and models such as Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer always seem to have them dangling from their shoulders. Keep to light beige colours and mix it up with contrasting darker leather straps for a western feel. Big buckles and lots of fringing always look good but don’t go too large with these bags, smaller is better. Check out this suede satchel with punch-out detail from www.asos.com at £30.

Finally, once the trend of the seventies, chain link bags are now back in fashion and where Chanel goes others must surely follow. Tiny little colour block bags with dinky chains are this seasons statement accessory, finished with a bright metallic buckle. Alexander Burke loves these and if you tuck in the chain they can double up as a clutch. Miss Selfridge have this gorgeous little lilac chain bag for only £16. Who said celebrity style is not affordable?!
