Athleisure might not slip off the tongue easily but it is the latest buzzword in fashion right now. It started with Juicy Couture back in the day, with their pink track suits and branding emblazoning on the fronts and sides. Nowadays actress Kate Hudson has taken athleisure even further with her label Fabletics.
If you’re still not sure what athleisure is, it is clothing that you can wear to the gym and to the office. Basically it is any kind of gym clothing that looks as good in the gym as it does in a restaurant, at work, in the shops, you get the picture.
But why would anyone want to wear gym clothes outside the gym? Well. One reason is that they are really comfortable and the materials have been technically advanced. A lot of labels use fabrics that wick away moisture from the body to keep it fresh and dry. And when you get famous designers such as Tory Burch getting in one the athleisure act, you know that it is one trend that will probably hand around.
