Family-owned British company Ruark Audio, renowned for its elegant designs, has now created an up-to-date version of the radiogram. A portmanteau of radio and gramophone, radiograms reached the peak of their popularity in the post-war era. Available from autumn 2013, the Ruark R7 brings a very modern twist to a retro concept. Known as Woz, Wozniak founded the Californian tech company with Steve Jobs in 1976. And, while it’s more than three decades since he left Apple, his views about Apple and its products are still highly respected. And it will be music to Apple’s competitors’ ears. Speaking at Businessweek’s Best Brand Awards, Wozniak, who single-handedly invented the Apple I and Apple II in the 1970s, described [...]
Friends with benefits: Controversial new Facebook app
Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis famously got together for some no-strings sex in the movie Friends With Benefits. Now a new Facebook app is aiming to do the same for friends on the social networking site. And, it’s not exactly subtle about it. Called BangWithFriends (we told you it wasn’t subtle), the app links up friends who want to get together, without any commitment. The newspaper and financial news service both claimed to have spoken to sources “briefed on the matter,” saying that Apple was considering a move to launch an iPhone with a cheaper body in a bid to stay a [...]
