These days, we can order a whole new wardrobe from our living room if we wish, without even taking a step outside, but it this a god send, or a hassle instead?
We make a cup of tea, turn on the television, get cosy on the sofa and surf the net for whatever product we’re after, whether it be a new lawnmower or the hottest new trends in Topshop. After a browse through the products, all we need to do is add the items to our virtual ‘shopping bag’, enter our card and address details, and wait for it to arrive, normally in a few working days. But is the process really as simple as it sounds?
When shopping online, there are a few things to consider first, such as card fraud, and the inconvenience of items not turning up on time. Card fraud is huge at the moment, and is a hassle to say the least. Few people have money to throw around, so when it’s stolen from their account or the card details are used by those not authorised, angry doesn’t describe how we feel. Similarly, there’s nothing worse than ordering an item for a specific time, and it not arriving. Giving a present late doesn’t have quite the same effect as giving it at the correct time, nor does buying an outfit for a night out and having to quickly find something else to wear right at the last minute.
However, the pros of shopping online definitely outweigh the cons, as you can avoid petrol costs, parking costs, and the annoyance of other shoppers. Not only that but you can avoid queues, check something is in stock before you show interest in it, and save yourself hours of time- sounds like a dream doesn’t it?
Log on today and see what bargains you can find. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you can get them delivered these days, often just the very next day…
