Do you have the type of partner that needs reminding about special anniversaries, forgets birthdays or is generally rubbish at choosing presents for the women in his life? You are not alone. Thankfully, in order to help these poor men, a new website has made the whole process a lot easier. ManBuysPresent.com is a brand new website that takes the sting out of buying.
The site firsts asks a few questions, such as ‘Who are you buying for?’ ‘How old are they?’ ‘What occasion is the present for?’ ‘How much do you want to spend?’ Once you have filled in the necessary answers, the site then spins you three ideas for presents, within your price range, and suitable for the person in question. It also tells you why the present would be a good idea, for instance, the site might produce a pair of gold earrings, it wil explain that whilst you only see a pair of boring earrings. your loved one will see a fashion statement her friends will be jealous of.
If you don’t like any of the ideas the site produces, you can ‘spin’ the present to view a different one.
We liked the finishing touches to the site, such as the ‘Get Out Of Jail’ card, a next-day delivery service for those who have left it until the last minute to source their gifts, and there is a personal assistant to help you make the final decision.
The site is the brainchild of Rachael Robertson, who told HuffPost UK Lifestyle: “I was getting really bored of e-commerce sites that were getting so big that finding anything was like searching for the proverbial needle in a haystack. And my (otherwise lovely) husband had chosen me some spectacularly bad presents — the electric toothbrush on Christmas Day being particularly special.”
Robertson has tailored the gift website to the way men typically like to approach tasks. She said: “By creating an online personal assistant, we suggest gifts based on answers to simple questions. Then we only show prices that already include delivery and beautiful gift-wrapping.”
“It’s a simple, foolproof system.”
And the site has proved to be so popular with the gents, that the founder has now included a help section for us ladies too! Not that we would need any help of course….
So if you are having palpitations about up and coming special dates (Valentines’ Day anyone?), check the site out. It may just save a few blushes, if not a whole relationship!
